In the works: Bogie’s Life - The Graphic Novel

I started making Bogie comics when I was 13 after I made a children’s book for an English Class project. I had so much fun with it and Got such a big response that I started doing it in my free time. Eventually it took over my life, and I was drawing during all of my classes. My comic books started circulating the school in the morning, and by the end of the day, the book would come back to me from someone I didn’t even know. People in my school seemed to love my comics, and it fueled the fire to create. I had written pretty in depth lore and had maybe 50 characters that were found lurking the pages. I had 5 separate comics that branched off from the main stories. Eventually I had something going like the MCU. Well, I read my comics again and felt like it was time to expand this thing and see what would happen. Keep checking in, and I’ll keep you updated.

Ninja Bogie:

First of the new art sketches for the graphic novel. I did this one in Sumi-e style, and so far I am planning to do the whole Ninja Bogie chapter with ink drawing

Painting and drawing have been my passion since before I have memories. I grew up making abstract work, and didn’t know what I was doing. My works were generally met with the question “What is it?” or “Why don’t you draw something like a house?”. I was encouraged to “Actually make something” enough times that I started push further into abstract. When I saw a Kandinsky painting hanging at a children’s hospital in the big city, everything changed. I thought it was beautiful beyond words. My mom explained that the kids at the children’s hospital probably made it. It took 15 years before I saw that painting again, and I realized it had influenced me more than any other artwork I had seen. I kept making art the way I wanted to. After years of creating, I had my first show, and the response floored me. The words of the art show goers inspired me. Words, and a handful of sales carried me to the art supply store with the intention to buy bigger canvasses, and really hammer out as much as I could from there on.

I also make music that ventures into similarly abstracted territory. Feel free to check it out at https://thesunisee.bandcamp.com/
